There's a lot to take into consideration when you buy a home. Often, you'll have to compromise and usually don't get everything on your wish list. But there are three items that REALTORS® generally recommend that homebuyers not compromise on.
The Floor Plan
It's difficult and expensive to reconfigure a home's floor plan. If the property doesn't fit your minimum criteria in terms of rooms and the flow of the main living areas, cross it off your list.
The School District
You should visit the school district's website and get a map of it's exact boundaries to avoid any surprises later on.
Be cognizant of neighboring homes, as they can affect future resale value.
Buying a home might mean that you won't get everything on your wish list, but remember these three things that REALTORS® agree you shouldn't give up.
